I want to walk. I must walk. I am walking.
I want to walk all over Ireland – little by little.
I want to do this to stay alive but more than that, to be so well in body, mind, and spirit that I find myself wanting to do things that are good for me.
That is my definition of wellness – wanting good things and being motivated to go after them. Flossing. Moisturizing. Eating well. Making art and music. Loving my neighbor.
When I’m not well, I’m not motivated to do any of this. I might want it but can’t see any way I can make it happen.
Wellness is tied up with optimism. You can believe, you can see, you can think up things, and you enjoy it all. Walking is doing this for me.
So this journal (blog) is about my experiences as I walk and pursue wellness every day. Knowing I’m going to write things down excites me.
So off I go…
