Kingfisher, Oklahoma Data
Why is this data
here, anyway?
When Global Thinking, Inc. moved to
Kingfisher, Oklahoma, we wanted to get a sense of "Kingfisher at a glance." We
thought we would start by reviewing the basic facts provided by the Census 2000
data - a difficult task due to the huge quantity of data available in 2003. At
that time, the Census 2000 technical folks had not yet made it possible to look
up specific counties or facts - that would come much later. Undaunted, the
Global Thinking team set out to harvest the data ourselves and separate the wheat from the
chaff. With data about Kingfisher spread all over the census data bases at that
time, here's what we did:
1) We located and consolidated this data
2) We adjusted the format to provide a clearer visual representation than was
available in the original government presentation.
3) We retained all of the census notations so that we could always go back to
the original census table source later for any detailed question.
4) We converted our charts to PDF format - a universally accessible and
downloadable file.
We've been adding other information from other state and federal sources from
time to time. This valuable data is accessible to the general public and
Kingfisher leaders in an easy-to-read format. We hoped that this data would be useful
in planning for future growth in Kingfisher, and we notified key community
leaders about its availability through a news release to the Kingfisher Times
and Free Press, the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce, and other civic groups.
Please let us know if Global Thinking, Inc. can be of service to you in the
areas of research, web design, marketing materials, training manuals,
proposals, business plans, or any kind of communication. We are available
to help you manage the challenge.
